Robert Latane (Bob) Forgie Jr., 42, of Montvale, Va., died on Thursday, December 17, 2009. Bob was born in Montvale on October 16, 1967. He was the son of the late Robert Latane Forgie Sr. and Hattie S. Forgie. He was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Bob was a graduate of Liberty High School and VMI class of 1990.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Deborah Tilley Forgie; two daughters, Tamra S. Brown and husband, Marvin, and Deborah N. Snead and fiance, James Hooper; one son, Jeffery D. Altice and wife, Amanda; four grandchildren, Deborah M. Altice, Corey L. Altice, Josh Altice, and Corbin M. Brown; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews of the Forge and Simmons family; and special friend, David Smith and family.
A celebration of Bob's life will be conducted 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert W. Auxier officiating. Gentlemen,
It is unfortunate that I need to share some sad news with you
today. Our BR Rob Forgie was accidentally killed this morning, December 18,
2009, while cutting down
a tree at his home in Montvale, Virginia.
Funeral arrangements have been
made for early next week for those who might be able to attend. VMI is working
to get cadet representation there as well:
